Comments: Hmm.. Both of them turned out lefthanded ..maybe its couse I read too many westernized mangas. - ^_^? Anyways, a simple enough inkdrawing I tuned a bit in PS7. the drawing itself only took 2-3 hour or so, the real hard part was geting the composition of the Japanese (old/new mixed style) flag/bloodspray work without making the overall image too messy. I made the part of it covering the brothers clothes darker and also added 3D shadows there. The original ink was huge (and a pain to scan, had to do it in 5 takes.. anyone know where to get an A3 scaner for less than the cost of a secondhand car let me know please. ;) 45x35cm and so in this here smaller size a lot of the detail in it is lost, like the paterning on the blade f.e.Despite the small image the file had to be pretty big due to the red color, theres still a lot of .jpeg artifacts in it though (..sorry about that.) the hardest thing in the linework was the mouth of Kyosuke in the closeup, I think I redrawn that little line like 15 times to get that smug look of his just right. The original was sketched with 05 pencil plastic leds and then inked with brush and 03 marker as usuall. I have a Japanese imported version of this game, thats what was used for character reference. Ill have a bit larger and b/w cut on my site soon. Thanks for your attention. -Andréas.

Comments: Hmmm, talk about waiting till the last minute...I did this one in about 2 hours a day before it was due. I had such a hard time deciding what to draw- I must've gone through about 20 sketches or so, and probably could've gone through 20 more but time was very limited. I had fooled around with Hyo and Kyosuke fighting over Tiff and Kyosuke sticking a 'kick me' sign on Hyo's back while he strutted around Taiyo High, but I went with this one. I dunno, something about Kyosuke giving Hyo a 'haircut' just struck me as funny (Hyo's long, white hair IS a little silly...). Anyhow, it came out ok, but maybe if I hadn't procrastinated...a larger, higher quality version will be available on my website not-art.com soon. Until next time...

Comments: Well after missing out on the last few I was definitely glad when I saw Kyosuke for this month. The only problem was I drew him too soon and now I’ve been waiting for the next character he he he…. :) Anyway I used Photoshop 7 for the entire picture and my trusty Wacom palate (which I love greatly). The background is supposed to be kinda like his fireball and I want to thank Ben again for this totally awesome site. Oh and the Matrix Revolutions was good but I wanted to see more fighting in the rain scene.

Comments: Er...I found out about this site on the 19th. And I drew this in 1 day.
Basically, found 3 pics on the web for reference, booted up my game, and drew what I saw. Hence the exciting camera work! All done in Painter 7 on Mac, from start to finish. Good old Graphire. Pens and Tinting. Whoohoo!
One layer for lines, one for character colour, one for the BG, and one for the rain. Drat the random background option in RS...I had to pick a rainy stage. Go figure.

Must submit before time up...

Comments: I was in the middle of CG painting Hyo, but I ran out of time. So I just colored the sketch I was using instead.
