took me 5 days to CG and I don't think I've ever spent so long on just
one character before in my life, but I rendered a lot of detail into
the clothes, and spent 2 days alone on rendering the trousers! I wanted
to go for a CG style similar to Masakazu Katsura- the guy that did all
the characters designs for the King of Fighters games and recently worked
on Capcom vs SNK 2? Well anyway, he draws semi-realistic anime artwork
(more realistic than this line art) and renders it to look more 'real'
using reference mateial and such- I used to think his stuff was photographed
until I saw a pic of him working from reference in Gamest Mook (a monthly
Japanese game guide or artwork magazine-book). The CG looks good, but
I dunno about combining that style with my line art. I think maybe next
time I might try going all out and doing a digital painting CG so it
ALL looks real ^_^ But I still like my comics and anime, so I'll probably
do more anime and comic line art, but keep the colouring more traditional,
like my usual CGs :)
