My initial design for this character was very sketchy. Sometimes when I plan out a character pose, I’ll rough out the shapes in blue pencil. Sometimes if the blue gets to messy, I’ll tighten it with a green pencil. If green lines are too messy, I’ll tighten the lines futher using a red pencil and to finish off I’ll use standard lead/graphite pencil or black. Doing this allows me to plan out the masses and shapes without using an eraser.
