This is how I'm doing the eyes on a female character. Its a start, but I'll improve.

nice start! but you might want to make the eyes a little smaller or make them seperated more and make the head bigger.

Nice start indeed The size and position of the eyes do make it look as if she's wearing novelty glasses tho They're too far apart. Often, a rule of thumb is applied that another eye could (almost) fit in between the two - depending on the style. And the left eye is stretched all the way to the ear, even in the works of "big eye small mouth" artists such as Clamp, there's more room there as well.
Anyway, keep it up, hope to see where this is going in the future
