the reason is if the world becomes to much for humans to bear the weakest will die and thin out our numbers due to lower numbers less polution will be cuased and over time the earth will return to normal or we could die out as a rusult of global warming and thje earth would return to normal but all in all i dont think the earth or our species is doomed untill the sun implodes but by then their will probaly be other planets to live on.

one problem. the polution doesn't decrease and if the global poulution does start killing ppl we ALL will die. doesn't have a thing to do with how weak we are and if it does then it's called "babies" the weakest larvae of the human species. so yes it is a big deal. a VERY big deal. <_< >_> bruhahahahahahhaha!!!!1

Well, nature has a way to diminish polution over a long stretch of time. And yeah, probably global warming won't utterly destroy life on earth and most likely it won't mean the end of mankind either. Nonetheless, millions of people would suffer (seeing how people even now are dying because of exceptional hot summers - tho I'm not saying that's a result of global warming). If you say you don't care about that, well, that's rather apathic now, isn't it?

mmm i don't know about that. Humans are pretty good at finding quick ways to slove problems we make. I really wouldn't doubt if a good billion people died, but still, I don't think we would thin are limits, more people = growth= more citys= more jobs more homes more urban stuff. there is alot of room still. lot's of deserts could hold citys to for billions of people. look how well the japanes make room for more people. it's just a matter of a little elbow grease to work problems out.

Global warming is a threat but i think there will be something much bigger within the next 20 years to change the world. i think that is.

Might be we find a solution, but in my book it's always better to prevent a problem than to solve it. Not quite living on the edge, but hey

i don't think any1 really understands the implications of global warming, i mean can any1 really say that?

humans maybe the main contributing factor that sped up the naturally occuring event that has happened over this planets history.

an event of htis size happens once every 10000 years as far as scientists know, but before that it could have happened 50000+ before hand, i'm sure u all know that i'm talking about an ice age. when the fresh water mixes with the salt water the gulf stream will slow and eventually stop, causing the warm water from the equator to come north past the UK and round the north atlantic to the USA, then rejoining the current at the gulf of mexico.

we in our infinte wisdon have ultimately cause our own distruction, it was our own ignorance that caused this and greed that kept it going.

personally i'd be lying if i sed i was scared of it, i know its coming btu i jsut feel that mankind kinda desevres whats its done to this planet, all our technology and gadgets, we can't live without them because it makes our lives easier. but we can, our ancestors did for 1000's of years before anything major happened. ok we had no idea what would happen at the time but we do know now, and we've known for over 50 years and done nothing to prevent it, we knew then and did nothing.

i've seen people when i've walked around my town, the hell hole that it is, jsut dropping liter where ever they like, thats is stopping the planet form recovering faster then it normally could.

i could go on for ages but to save ur eyes and concerntration i'll stop.

you all have good points but what i think is a major contibuting facotr is the amount of people on this world, and citys i don't mean to be mean to people who live in citys but there like cancer on the earth think about citys dont produce any food or goods they just consume and cuase pollution and i think we have no need for citys and maybe if we could use small cars insted of huge suvs and hummers it would help the earth a lot, or better yet hydrogen cars which are alredy made and safe but big gasoline companys won't let them mass produce.

well i heard in Norway, that they have buses that run on water. i guess that wouldn't work for every country (especially australia, because we are in a draught) but it would be a good idea to have more public transport running on renewable sources.

but i do agree that too many people are just apathetic and just litter and stuff. they all say "oh its not gonna happen in my lifetime." thats not really the point here though.
